What? fun and friendly introduction to pure Balboa and Bal-Swing
When? Tuesdays 19:00 - 20:00 starting 11th April for 4 weeks
Where? St. Columba’s Hall, entrance on Blue Boar St. through the Bear pub garden
How much? £7 per week or £25 for all 4 weeks (includes entry to Swing Fix Social from 21:00). You can also pre-book the Swing Basics class (20:00 - 21:00) for those 4 weeks and save (37£ total).

What is Balboa?
Balboa is one of the many excellent branches of the swing dance family. Danced to faster swing music and with an emphasis on footwork, this style will teach you how to dance comfortably to fast music all night long, all life long. Will the classes be beginner friendly?
Absolutely. Weeks 1 and 2 will focus on the fundamentals for people who are completely new to Balboa or want to revise their basics.
How about if I’ve done some Balboa before?
Weeks 3 and 4 will build on the foundations introducing new moves and footwork variations. They’ll be suitable for anyone who has done weeks 1 and 2 and/or has some previous Balboa experience.
Do I need to book in advance?
We will be running the 4 week block as a progressive course so if you’re new to Balboa, we would recommend doing all 4 weeks. You can pre-book the block at a discount. If you’ve done some Balboa before or are comfortable with picking up new material quickly then you’re welcome to drop in as well.

What if I want to do the Swing Basics class as well?
You're very welcome to stay for the Swing Basics class which runs from 8-9pm and we will be offering a discounted rate of £3 per class (i.e. £10 for Balboa + Swing Basics). You can either pre-book that as well and save the hassle on the door or buy a top-up on the night.
When can I practice?
The Swing Fix social runs from 9-10:15pm and we’ll be playing plenty of tunes suitable for both Balboa and Lindy Hop.
What should I wear?
We recommend light, comfortable clothes in which you can move freely. For the Balboa footwork it can be practical to wear shoes with a small heel, but it is by no means necessary.
What if I want more Balboa in my life after these 4 weeks?
