Learn to Lindy Hop! This energetic partner dance originated in African-American communities at the height of the Swing Era in the 20s, 30s, and 40s and is still a global phenomenon today.
Oxford Lindy Hoppers teach fun, friendly drop-in classes. No previous dance experience is required for beginners, and no need to bring a partner for any of our classes!
For this block of lessons we are running two beginners classes, the 19:30 class will teach both the follow and lead roles to all attendees (you'll switch roles part way through the class) while in the 20:30 class you'll stick to one role for the class (you can still switch roles from week to week if you want). The two classes won't be covering exactly the same content so you can do both if you want more Lindy in your life.
The venue opens at 19:30, with classes for:
- Beginners (Learning both roles - follow and lead): 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - The Loft
- Beginners (Fixed roles): 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. - The Loft
- Intermediates: 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - The Studio
- Improvers: 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. - The Studio
Social dancing (all levels): 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - The Loft
