Ticket sales for this event have closed.
Concerts by UK's top swing jazz bands, with the added attraction of watching dancers, like in the Swing Era!

Join us as audience members on 13 and 14 June, as big bands play and swing dancers sway!

This is part of Oxford Lindy Exchange (OLX), a weekend festival of social dancing to celebrate sensational Swing Jazz, featuring some of the best musicians in the UK. Tickets get you unreserved seating in the Circle or Balcony. (N.B. this is not a ticket to join the dance floor).

Venue: The air-conditioned and award-winning Olivier Hall at St. Edward's School, with a cafe serving a selection of drinks and snacks, and a chill out room for anyone coming with children who might want a minor distraction during the event.

Highlights:

Saturday

  • The Grand Ball with Ewan Bleach & The Fleeting Paradise Orchestra, playing three sets.
  • The Fleeting Paradise Orchestra plays arrangements of jazz and blues numbers from the ‘territory’ bands of late 20s and early 30s America, such as Benny Moten, Charlie Johnson, Fess Williams and Duke Ellington, as well as original compositions and arrangements by Ewan himself. Ewan is a clarinettist, saxophonist, pianist, singer, bandleader, composer, teacher and session musician, and loves playing for dancers.

Sunday

  • Journey through Jazz Music with Duncan Hemstock & His All Stars: Take a guided stroll through the history of Jazz, starting with gospel music, marches and early jazz before finding their way to Boogaloo, Bossa Nova and Soul.
  • Concert with Duncan Hemstock & His All Stars
  • Duncan Hemstock is a clarinet and saxophone player from Adelaide, Australia, who specialises in playing swing music from the 1930s. He frequently travels across the UK, Europe, and beyond, playing for dancers at Lindy Hop festivals, bringing his joy for life and music to every performance. Backed by a collection of some of London’s finest Swing musicians – affectionately known as The All Stars – Duncan will bring the vibes of Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Duke Ellington to the Sunday Tea Dance.

Plus, excellent DJs during the band breaks.

Parking: Parking within the St. Edward’s School is for Blue Badge Holders only. There is some free parking in South Parade and the surrounding roads from 6.30 pm on weekdays and all day on Sundays.

Access: Tickets get you unreserved seating in the Circle or Balcony. You can stay for as long as you wish, or come back after a break. N.B. This ticket does not give you access to the dance floor. For dance access, please purchase OLX 2026 dance passes.

NOTE: The timings of each event are indicative and subject to change. The final schedule will be confirmed closer to the start of OLX.

OLX is run by Oxford Lindy Hoppers, a non-profit community-based group founded in 2008. Our mission is to get the people swing dancing and honour its history as a vibrant, subversive expression of joy amid segregation, created by Black artists.
